About

Little Sprouts Garden Club is a STEAM-based program where children in grades K–5 work on cultivating a community garden at the library. Kids and their caregivers take part in activities such as planting, garden maintenance, and hosting an Earth Day event.

• Ages: 5–11 years old

The program is part of the Summit Free Public Library, whose mission is to inform, enriches and inspires the community. The library’s leadership team includes Amy Behr-Shields, Director; Ann-Marie Aymer, Head of Youth Services; Abby Brady, Head of Adult Services; Beata Barrasso, Head of Technical Services and System Administrator; Tahirah Clarke, Head of Circulation; and Andres Parra Hernandez, Head Custodian. Staff members involved with the library include Amy Behr-Shields, MLS, SHRM-CP, Director since April 2022; Ann-Marie Aymer, Head of Youth Services since June 2013; Abby Brady, MLS, with the library since 2008 and Head of Adult Services since 2013; Beata Barrasso, with the library since June 2013; Tahirah Clarke, with the library since 2006 and Head of Circulation since October 2020; and Andres Parra Hernandez, with the library since 2008.
