Peppermint Tree Child Development Center

Peppermint Tree Child Development Center includes activities such as swimming during summer camp, enjoying friends at the swimming pool, playing ball games, exploring nature, making crafts, and monthly music and movement experiences with Mr. Scott the Music Man. Children spend time in enriching indoor classrooms, an outdoor classroom, a playground, and garden environments set on an acre with a park-like playground and in-ground swimming pools. The gardens are used for long-term study of seeds, plants, flowers, vegetables, and healthy eating.

Peppermint Tree Child Development Center offers warm, nurturing and fun educational childcare for young children starting at 2 years of age. The program uses The Creative Curriculum, the same published, research-based curriculum used by the Toms River School System, and teachers model pro-social behaviors, problem-solving skills, and empathy. Credentialed teachers and experienced staff are guided by a research-based, proven, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and the program has been serving the families of Toms River since 1975.

The center is Four Star Rated by the State of New Jersey for High-Quality Preschool, and this four-star rating means the program has been vetted and is in line with the New Jersey Department of Education's expectations for high-quality preschool. Peppermint Tree Child Development Center was selected by the State of New Jersey to be one of a handful of private school Implementation Sites for the Pyramid Model. Beyond the school day, the program describes itself as a community of families, with regular parent meetings, parent workshops, and family events, and it states that the friends made at Peppermint Tree last a lifetime.
