The program lists several safety and health practices, including allowing entry only to authorized staff and families, using smoke detectors and fire extinguishers at all sites, and cleaning with safe, non-toxic products while sanitizing high-touch items and surfaces throughout the day. It uses strict pick-up and drop-off procedures with sign-in/sign-out and photo identification, has supervised outdoor play only in safe, secure outdoor spaces at the school or program location, and follows strict policies for administering medication, including requiring a doctor’s note for any medication for children under age 2. Each site has an emergency evacuation plan that is tested frequently, and a National Support Center crisis team supports each center during and after emergencies. A wellness screening is located near the Family Communication Area, and there is an emphasis on emotional wellness with daily lessons in community building and character development.
