Vineland PAL states that its mission is to help create positive relationships between local youth, families, and law enforcement through safe programs, community events, and structured activities. The mission explains that Vineland PAL exists to help strengthen the relationship between Vineland youth and police by giving young people positive places to learn, participate, compete, and connect with trusted adults. The mission also notes a focus on direct youth engagement, structured activities, recreation, mentoring, special events, and ongoing involvement from parents, volunteers, officers, and local partners, summarized as “PAL Mission: Better connections. Safer spaces. Programs are built around trust, activity, structure, and community presence.”
Girls in Action is described as providing a structured place for encouragement, community involvement, confidence-building, and positive youth development. PAL Karate is described as emphasizing effort, focus, and respect in a team environment. Vineland PAL Police Explorers are described as building leadership, teamwork, discipline, public service, and community engagement, and participants must complete a one-week Police Explorer Boot Camp in August to become a Vineland PAL Police Explorer.
The program notes that weekly youth programs, summer activities, Police Explorers, sports, reading, family events, and volunteer-supported opportunities keep PAL active throughout the year. PAL hosts community events such as bingo, holiday celebrations, talent shows, giveaways, and family-centered activities, and parents, volunteers, and community partners help PAL stay active. Explorers work alongside PAL advisors and law enforcement mentors while supporting PAL-sponsored community events, outreach, volunteer opportunities, and educational activities.
Vineland PAL is seeking a volunteer boxing coach willing to donate time to work with local youth, and the goal of the boxing program is to teach boxing fundamentals in a safe, structured, positive environment while helping kids build discipline, confidence, focus, and respect. Readathon and guest-reader activities are described as supporting literacy, attention, learning, and positive educational experiences.
