Camp Calvary began in 1992 as a ministry of Calvary Temple International, with the Nursery–K program currently known as Calvary Learning Center. Former Camp Directors Pastor Matthew Battista and Pastor Holly Battista led Camp Calvary for 12 years and now serve as the Lead Pastors of Calvary Temple International. Janirys Rose serves as one of the Camp Directors, overseeing programming for infants through pre-K, and the current director, Denisse Orta, oversees Camp Calvary for children in kindergarten through 9th grade. Camp Calvary states that it exists to provide the community with a safe and nurturing environment that meets the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the children in its care and describes itself as a diverse community that continues to be a valuable resource for the town of Wayne and the surrounding communities.
