505 Swimming was created out of a passion for swimming and a goal of making learning easy, accessible, and fun. Its stated mission is to provide a premier learn-to-swim experience in North-Central New Mexico from Farmington to Santa Fe and Albuquerque, with year-round group and 1-on-1 lessons for hundreds of students every week and seasonal summer and winter/spring break camps in Santa Fe, Farmington and Bloomfield, Los Alamos, and Albuquerque. The program uses an online booking system that allows registration per lesson for both group and private lessons, with no new family or annual fees and no month-long commitments, and notes that online booking is easy and easy to reschedule. Group lessons are only offered at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, lessons at El Gancho are only open to club members, all class registration at the Bloomfield City Aquatic Center is online with no commitments, and lessons at the Walkup Aquatic Center must be booked using Los Alamos County's RecTrac system. Both group and private lessons are available at the indoor Valley and Sandia pools on weekday evenings and Saturdays, and during June and July lessons are also offered at additional outdoor pools in Albuquerque. The Walkup Aquatic Center includes a new kid-focused pool that is warm and described as perfect for young children learning to swim. 505 Swimming identifies itself as a Proud NM Small Business. One parent testimonial describes the online booking as very easy, mentions that it is easy to reschedule when needed, and describes the instructors as sweet and patient.
