About

Youth Art Classes and Camps offers Summer Art Camps, Art After School, and art classes in all media. The program also includes Artists' Talks, supported by more than 300 videos on the Schweinfurth Art Center YouTube channel, most of which are Artists' Talks. Youth participants are part of a broader art program that also features the annual Made in NY exhibition and exhibits such as Both Ends of the Rainbow and Three Lakes Sampler, which highlight art made by preK to Grade 12 students and senior citizens from Central New York. Every late fall since 1982, the Schweinfurth hosts Quilts=Art=Quilts, an exhibit of contemporary textile artwork from around the world.

• Schedule: Art classes and camps are offered in multiple formats, including Summer Art Camps and Art After School

Construction on the Schweinfurth Art Center, where Youth Art Classes and Camps are based, began in 1980 and the center opened on June 28, 1981. The Schweinfurth Art Center provides creative opportunities and transformational experiences through the arts, for all people, and states a belief in public access to the arts, integrity, excellence, understanding with generosity of spirit, and lifelong learning. The Schweinfurth Art Center and Cayuga Museum of History & Art make up the West End Arts Campus, and the Schweinfurth Art Center is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
