Berkeley Carroll Community Swim and Fitness – Children's Swim Classes offers private swim lessons, group classes, morning and evening lap swim, and weekend family swim sessions. Children can join Baby and Me, Toddler & Me, Level 1 Children’s Prebeginner Swim, Level 2 Children’s Beginner Swim (ARC Levels 1, 2), Level 3 Children’s Advanced Beginner Swim (ARC Level 3), Level 4 Children’s Intermediate Swim (ARC Level 4), Advanced Swimming (ARC Level 5), Swim Club, and Children’s Competitive Swim. The pool is a recreational pool without spectator space on the deck, and accommodations are available for families who need additional support for their children.

• Schedule: Children’s classes run in seasonal sessions, with most Saturday classes offered May 2–June 27, 2026, and Advanced Swimming also offered March 4–April 29, 2026; most children’s classes are 30 minutes, with Swim Club and Children’s Competitive Swim running 45–60 minutes.

Baby and Me meets in Fall, Winter, and Spring, and in Spring 2026 runs on Saturdays from May 2–June 27 at 9:15am and 9:45am, with 30-minute classes and one caregiver in the water; swim diapers are required. Toddler & Me runs May 2–June 27, 2026 on Saturdays at 10:15am and 10:45am, with 30-minute classes and an adult in the water with each preschooler. Level 1 Children’s Prebeginner Swim runs May 2–June 27, 2026 on Saturdays at 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am, and 11:00am, with 30-minute classes, up to four sections, and a limit of four children per instructor. Swim Club meets Saturdays from 2:30–3:15pm between May 2 and June 27, 2026, and Tuesdays from 6:00–6:45pm between May 12 and June 23, 2026, and students in Swim Club learn how to use starting blocks for competitive swimming. Children’s Competitive Swim meets Thursdays from 6:00–7:00pm between April 30 and June 25, and Saturdays from 1:00–2:00pm between May 2 and June 27, 2026, and is a clinic for swimmers who are already proficient and able to swim two lengths of the pool. Private lessons are available from March through June, and a new Adult Synchronized class runs on Sundays from 12:00–1:00pm, along with an Adult Beginner Swim option.

The Bongsoon Zubay Athletic Center welcomes community members for recreational use during early mornings, evenings, and weekends from September through July, and the pool does not include spectator space on the deck. Holiday closures include specific dates for Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Indigenous Peoples Day, Diwali, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Lunar New Year, Eid-al-Fitr, Spring Break, Passover, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the 4th of July, and an August closure for facility projects. The program’s mission is to provide engaging and developmentally appropriate swim instruction that builds confidence, strengthens foundational skills, and fosters a lifelong comfort in the water. The Berkeley Carroll School, founded in 1886, is a vibrant, independent PreK–12 college preparatory school in the historic Park Slope section of Brooklyn, and it states that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. The community includes families from across New York City and New Jersey and is supported by transportation options, including bus service for students.
