SC Gjøa Youth Soccer offers youth soccer classes, soccer camps, soccer clinics, travel soccer, and specialized programs such as Little Vikings, the Youth Development Program (YDP), MLS GO, and goalkeeper practice. The program includes both girls travel soccer and boys travel soccer, and Gjøa teams participate in the Norway Cup tournament in Oslo.

SC Gjøa Youth Soccer is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit program that states it puts kids first in every aspect of its approach to teaching young people the game. At Gjøa, kids of all ages and abilities are coached in more than just the game itself, with a stated focus on teamwork, leadership, and competing in a positive way in a nurturing and supportive environment.
SC Gjøa Youth Soccer is New York’s oldest soccer club and is described as Brooklyn’s premier and oldest youth soccer club, established in 1911 by Norwegian immigrants. Gjøa Youth Soccer Brooklyn has been providing soccer opportunities for kids in Brooklyn neighborhoods since 1911 and has proud Norwegian roots and a historical connection to Roald Amundsen’s ship “Gjøa.” Each year, Gjøa teams travel to the Norway Cup in Oslo, connecting players with the club’s roots, and the club reports over 800 participants each year.
All programs are led by full-time USSF and UEFA licensed professional coaches, including licensed coaches for both girls and boys travel soccer teams and a professional GK Coach for goalkeepers. Each travel player has an Individual Development Plan guided by their coach, every travel team player plays at least 50% of every game, goalkeepers have their own extra practice with the professional GK Coach, and there is an optional weekly Club Practice at no additional charge. The club notes a focus on individual success and long-term player development over winning silverware.
