About
Kids Surf Camp is a 5 day camp aboard a state of the art boat with a professional wakesurf coach. During the camp, kids take part in a kids surf camp experience that can include activities such as stand up paddleboard (SUP), kayak, surf demo, wakefoil, SUP yoga, and private lessons.
• Schedule: 5 day camp
Kids Surf Camp is offered by Canandaigua Sailboard, which has been family owned and operated since 1982. The program is part of a company whose leadership team includes founding owner Steve Howie, co-founder Eric Ludeman, CEO Amanda Peterson, CTO Jason Smith, and Design Director Michael Fassbender. Canandaigua Sailboard states that its mission is to connect participants to nature through exceptional experiences and is a proud member of the Neon Wave Family of Brands as a wholly owned subsidiary. The organization notes an environment first focus, uses high end rental gear, and offers concierge-level services related to surf, snow, adventure, fashion, and culture. Its community involvement includes picking up Kershaw Park, donating time to teach people new to the sport, working with partners on efforts such as ridding Canandaigua Lake of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), removing trash from Kershaw Park, and partnering with global institutions like Protect Our Winters and 1% For The Planet. The program notes that limited kids surf camp spots remain, that the 2026 Summer Kids Camp is almost sold out, and that Week 6 was recently added.
