Town of Colonie Parks and Recreation Programs

Town of Colonie Parks and Recreation Programs include activities such as the Summer Enrichment Program, Learn-To-Swim, cross-country skiing, a fishing contest, and concerts by the Town Band, Memorial Town Band, and Town Brass Choir. The Mohawk River Park and Pool offers an Olympic size pool with a diving area, a training pool, a splash pad, bath house, two pavilions, picnic facilities, tennis courts, playground equipment, Town Pool nature trails, a covered bridge, and cross-country ski trails. Families can use the Online Parks Portal to enroll in activities, reserve rental spaces, obtain pool passes, and more.

The Parks and Recreation Department offers programs and special events to the public throughout the year, including the Summer Enrichment Program, Learn-To-Swim, cross-country skiing, a fishing contest, and concerts by the Town Band, Memorial Town Band, and Town Brass Choir. The Crossings of Colonie received the 2018 Capital Region’s #1 Best Park award. Peter G. Crummey serves as Colonie Town Supervisor, was elected in 2021, and his term commenced on January 1, 2022. For the 2025 season, Town of Colonie residents must obtain a Resident FOB to enter the Colonie Town Pool, and only US Coast Guard approved life jackets are allowed in the pool. Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained in both the pool and Splash Pad areas, no glass containers are allowed in the locker room or pool area, no pets are allowed in or around the pool or Splash Pad, and all food and drink must be kept in the concession area.
