The Town of Colonie Parks and Recreation Programs include activities such as the Summer Enrichment Program, Learn-To-Swim, cross-country skiing, golf outings and tournaments, and a fishing contest. Families can also attend events such as Town Band, Memorial Town Band, and Town Brass Choir concerts, the Colonie Farmers' Market, Colonie Summer Concert Series, Colonie Police Kids Fun Run Featuring a Color Run, Cops For Kids Fun Run, Harvest Fest, Summer Celebration, Meet Mr. & Mrs. Bunny, a Holiday Boutique, a Tree and Shrub Giveaway, a Food Resources Program, and a Seasonal Job Fair. For pool users, a Resident FOB is required to enter the Colonie Town Pool for the 2026 season, and the pool and splash pad follow specific posted rules and regulations.

• Schedule: Pool and Splash Pad are open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on May 23, 24, 25, May 30, 31 and June 6, 7, and June 13 through September 6, 2026 (weather permitting); Colonie Farmers' Market runs Saturdays from May 16 through September 19, 2026, and at The Crossings on Saturdays, May 17 through September 20, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; Colonie Summer Concert Series and Concerts at the Crossings run Thursdays from June 25 through August 27, 2026; Colonie Police Kids Fun Run Featuring a Color Run is on Saturday, June 13, 2026 beginning at 9:30 a.m.; Colonie Conservation Day Tree and Shrub Giveaway is on May 9, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to noon; the 2nd Annual Holiday Boutique is on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Harvest Fest is on Saturday, September 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Summer Celebration is on Saturday, August 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Cops For Kids Fun Run is on Sunday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. with in-person registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.; the 2025 Memorial Day Ceremony is on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m.; Meet Mr. & Mrs. Bunny is on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m.; and the Town of Colonie Parks and Recreation Seasonal Job Fair is on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Town of Colonie Parks and Recreation Department offers various programs and special events to the public, including the Summer Enrichment Program, Learn-To-Swim, concerts by the Town Band, Memorial Town Band, and Town Brass Choir, Colonie Farmers' Market, Colonie Summer Concert Series, Colonie Police Kids Fun Run Featuring a Color Run, Colonie Conservation Day Tree and Shrub Giveaway, Holiday Boutique, Harvest Fest, Summer Celebration, Cops For Kids Fun Run, a Memorial Day Ceremony, Meet Mr. & Mrs. Bunny, and a Seasonal Job Fair. The department uses an Online Parks Portal that can be used to enroll in activities, reserve rental spaces, obtain pool passes, and more. Town of Colonie Parks encompass 850 acres of land for recreational use, including The Crossings of Colonie at approximately 130 acres with rolling fields, thick stands of trees, walking paths, an orchard, bike trails, and a three-acre pond, and Mohawk River Park and Pool at 160 acres with an Olympic size pool, training pool, splash pad, bath house, pavilions, picnic facilities, tennis courts, playground equipment, nature trails, a covered bridge, and cross-country ski trails. The Town of Colonie Golf Course is a scenic 36-hole golf course with a blend of wide fairways and challenging doglegs and hosts several leagues and over 50 golf outings and tournaments. The Crossings of Colonie was awarded the 2018 Capital Region’s #1 Best Park.

Peter G. Crummey serves as the Colonie Town Supervisor and was sworn in as the 18th Supervisor of the Town of Colonie on January 1, 2022. He started work at Town Hall in 1980 as a law clerk in the Town Attorney’s Office, served as the attorney for the Zoning Board of Appeals for 13 years, served 21 years as the Senior Colonie Town Judge and Court Administrator, and represented a portion of the Town of Colonie as an Albany County Legislator for eight years. He was elected in 2021 and his term as Supervisor commenced on January 1, 2022.
