Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium Educational Programs and Summer Programs includes Turtle Experience, Intro to Fishing, Pollywog Adventures, Catch & Keep Fishing, Fins & Jaws, Aquatic Habitats, Life Cycles in Nature, Adaptations, Hatching Trout, and Reptiles & Amphibians. Fins & Jaws is for Pre-K and K, age 4 and up, and costs $8 per session. Aquatic Habitats and Life Cycles in Nature are for grades 1-2, Adaptations is for grades 3 and up, Hatching Trout is for grades 4 and up, and Reptiles & Amphibians is for grades 5 and up.

Programs

• Summer Programs — Programs available for students entering Kindergarten through High School in September 2027. · Check back in January for the 2027 Summer Program schedule.
• Educational Programs for Schools & Groups — Suitable for pre-K through college; grade level indicated for a program is only a suggestion. · All of the following programs are one hour in length, except Freshwater Ecology which is 2 hours; seasonal programs are available late October through mid November or mid April through October, and outreach programming is available all year round.

About the provider

Its mission is to operate as an environmental education center and public aquarium that continues to raise and stock trout. Each year schools, scouts, and other groups visit the Hatchery to learn about the freshwater ecosystems of New York State, and outreach programming is available all year round. Visitors can tour two aquarium buildings and eight outdoor ponds, feed the trout, and try Catch & Keep fishing; fish food may be purchased in the Gift Shop.

Teachers and aides are free. Chaperones pay the per person fee. Minimum fees apply for each program. For summer programs, check back in January for the 2027 schedule. Animal donations are not accepted.
