About

Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora is part of Boys & Girls Club of America, a national network of affiliated Clubs. The program operates as a Club that is open to members on school days and certain non-school days.

• Schedule: Club hours on school days are immediately following school dismissal until 6:00 pm, and the Club follows the East Aurora public school calendar for half days and holidays, with non-school day hours determined as they occur.

In 1939 the Club was founded by a concerned group of citizens spearheaded by Niles Barnum and Herm Fisher, founder of Fisher Price. The founding purpose was to provide a wholesome place for all youth to perfect their athletic abilities and develop the skills to become future good citizens. Today, the Club states that it remains a safe and fun place for kids to believe in themselves, succeed, and dream about their future. The Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors led by Board President Michael Wymer, and day-to-day operations are managed and led by Chief Executive Officer Gary Schutrum. BGCEA is part of Boys & Girls Club of America, which is a national network of affiliated Clubs, and it references its Community Partners in its navigation under “Community Partners.” The Club also uses the phrases “Great Futures Start Here” and “Empowering Dreams, Unleashing Potential: Where Kids Thrive Together!” as unique features of its messaging.
