In 1939 the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora was founded by a group of citizens led by Niles Barnum and Herm Fisher, the founder of Fisher Price. The Club was started to provide a wholesome place for all youth to perfect their athletic abilities and develop the skills to become future good citizens. Today, the Club states that it remains a safe and fun place for kids to believe in themselves, succeed, and dream about their future. The Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora is part of Boys & Girls Club of America, a national network of affiliated Clubs, and references Community Partners in a section titled “Community Partners.”

The Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, led by Board President Michael Wymer. Day-to-day operations are managed and led by Chief Executive Officer Gary Schutrum. The organization highlights the phrases “Great Futures Start Here” and “Empowering Dreams, Unleashing Potential: Where Kids Thrive Together!” as unique features of the Club.
