YMCA of Long Island Summer Day Camp includes activities in adventure, aquatics, creative arts, camp traditions, special activities and trips, and summer learning. The camp offers a variety of options such as Kiddie, Youth, Pre-Teen, Teen, Sports Camp, and Counselor-in-Training (CIT) programs. Theme days, in-house specials for Kiddie Campers, and off-campus trips for Pre-Teen and Teen campers are part of the camp schedule.
• Ages: 3–15 years old
• Schedule: Operating hours 9am–4pm with AM care from 7am–9am and PM care from 4pm–6pm; multiple sessions from June 29 through August 21, 2026, plus Camp Closeout options in late August 2026

The YMCA of Long Island Summer Day Camp offers a three-month payment plan and provides a Parent Dashboard for families to manage their accounts. A new Kiddie Camp three-day option is available at Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Camp Open House dates are announced, and the camp team answers questions about topics such as open house, being a new camper, and camp lunch. Camp Closeout for K–5th grade is scheduled for August 24–28, 2026, with a Huntington YMCA Camp Closeout Week from August 24–27, 2026.
The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. For 175 years, the YMCA has been keeping families, children, adults and communities safe in and around the water. The YMCA of Long Island partners with school districts in Nassau and Suffolk counties to support student learning. The YMCA states that it is for all and provides financial assistance for those who may not be able to afford the full cost of programs and services.
The camp’s staff includes licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors, a psychiatrist, a physician’s assistant, and other trained advocates.
