New for 2026, Adventure Camps offer an Adventure Summer Camp where kids focus on a specific activity or interest in a super-focused environment with expert instructors. Soccer Academy is led by certified U.S. Soccer Foundation (USSF) coach-mentors. All YMCA of Greater New York Camps are licensed by the NYC Department of Health and backed by the American Camp Association. Camp activities celebrate cultural diversity, build lifelong capabilities, foster independence, teach teamwork, and focus on the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Founded in 1852, the YMCA of Greater New York states that its mission is that New York City’s YMCA is here for all New Yorkers — to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. The Y describes itself as New York City’s leading nonprofit community health and well-being organization, and notes that the generosity of donors and partners helps the Y to provide life-changing opportunities for New Yorkers. Financial assistance is awarded to campers based on the family’s annual income, and the Y states that no family is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. YMCA of Greater New York members receive discounted member pricing and priority registration for camps, along with a 10% Early Bird Discount by paying the camp balance by April 18, 2026, and a 10% Sibling Discount for siblings of the first child registered at full price.
