Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board Programs include activities such as arts and crafts, sports, STREAM workshops, games, and positive socialization. Some programs include workshops on resume writing, interviewing, personal success, goal setting, time management, comprehensive resume writing, mastering interview techniques, and work ethics and etiquette, along with guest speakers and video presentations. Academic support can include homework tasks, assistance in Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and 20 minutes of required reading.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: The Youth Bureau Afterschool Program is available weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 3 pm–6 pm, and a typical 5-week program is offered for youth entering grades 1–8.
• Price: The Youth Bureau Afterschool Program is available free of cost to students entering grades 1–5.

The Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports and augments many of the programs offered by the Glen Cove Youth Bureau and offers scholarships to Glen Cove youth who demonstrate extraordinary service to their community. The organization states that it strives to improve the lives of its students through education of academic, behavioral, cognitive, and social skills. Through the Youth Bureau, the Friends assist in providing back to school supplies to students who could not otherwise afford these essentials, and they help distribute food baskets and Thanksgiving dinners to needy families in the community. The Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board provide volunteer and financial support to the Glen Cove Youth Bureau and provide scholarships to graduating high school students who have demonstrated outstanding community service.

The Youth Bureau facilitates 1:1 mentoring for youth at risk, pairing youth with adult members of the community who serve as role models, with mentors serving for 1-year terms and meeting within the community. SYEP Green Teams are for 8th and 9th graders who will be 14 by July 1 and focus on work responsibility such as punctuality, teamwork, following directions, and community involvement, while SYEP Interns are 10th–12th graders, many stepping up from SYEP Green Teams, and interviews for these positions are competitive.

The leadership team includes Executive Director Spiro Tsirkas; Account Clerk Anna DiGiuseppe; Youth Mentoring Program Coordinator Charmaine Clarke; Youth Program Coordinators Carolina Guastella and Sandra Potter; Board Members Steve Nelson, Ron Bieber, and Rich Hall; and Chairman Roberto Telese.
