YMCA of Long Island Youth Programs and Camps offers activities such as Summer Day Camp, adventure programs, aquatics, creative arts, camp traditions, special activities and trips, and summer learning. The program also includes group fitness, swim programs, personal training session packages, and Tween Takeover nights where participants hang out with friends, play games, swim, and take part in other activities. Additional services connected to the program include individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention services, drug screenings, family therapy, women-only group counseling sessions, a DWI Track for first offenders, positive alternative activities, and programs focused on stress management and anger management.

• Schedule: Brookhaven Roe YMCA Center has operating hours Monday through Friday from 7:00am–10:00am and 4:00pm–7:00pm, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday; YMCA Family Services operates Monday–Thursday from 9:00am–9:30pm, Friday from 9:00am–5:00pm, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday; Tween Takeover runs on Fridays from 6:30pm–8:30pm; Spring Programs run from April 13 to June 21, 2025; the Winter Program Session runs from February 8 to April 18, 2026.

The Brookhaven Roe Y Center has been serving the Brookhaven and Islip townships for almost four decades. YMCA Family Services is a branch of the YMCA of Long Island and offers a range of treatment and prevention services that address emotional wellness for individuals, families, and the community at large. The YMCA of Long Island states that it works to strengthen families and communities through programs that focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, and YMCA Family Services functions as the social services and mental health arm of the organization. The YMCA Family Services staff includes licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors, a psychiatrist, and a physician’s assistant.

The YMCA of Long Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Proceeds from the Patchogue Family YMCA 5K Run/Walk for a Cause support the YMCA Community Food Distribution Program and services that provide fresh, nutritious food to local families in need. Healthy Kids Day events are free and open to the public. The YMCA of Long Island also offers community education through visual displays, literature distribution, and a Speaker’s Bureau that provides speakers for schools, community agencies, church groups, and other interested community organizations.

Unique features connected to YMCA of Long Island Youth Programs and Camps include Camp Open House events where families can meet the camp team, take a tour, and ask questions, as well as a 5‑month payment plan for camp. Tween Takeover nights are offered for 3rd–6th graders. Families have access to YMCA 360, an on-demand digital platform that includes select Les Mills workouts, and the YMCA Daxko Mobile App, which can be used to register for programs, find and reserve classes, sync with Apple Health, and receive YMCA updates. The organization promotes a Phones Down Eyes Up water safety initiative that designates a water watcher. A Family Connection network meets monthly for parents, spouses, guardians, and other family members, and the Women’s Program includes women-only group counseling sessions and childcare services for members with children.
