About
YMCA of Long Island Summer Day Camp includes activities in adventure, aquatics, creative arts, camp traditions, special activities and trips, and summer learning. The program offers a variety of camp types, including Kiddie, Youth, Pre-Teen, Teen, Sports Camp, and Counselor-in-Training (CIT). At the Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp, there is a new Kiddie Camp three-day option that meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
• Ages: 3–15 years old
• Schedule: Core camp hours 9am–4pm with AM care 7am–9am and PM care 4pm–6pm; multiple sessions from June 29–August 21, 2026, plus Camp Closeout options the week of August 24, 2026
For 175 years, the YMCA has been keeping families, children, adults, and communities safe in and around the water. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The YMCA of Long Island partners with school districts in Nassau and Suffolk counties to support student learning. The organization identifies as a Know. See. Respond. organization for child safety and offers financial assistance for those who may not be able to afford the full cost of programs and services.
The program is part of a larger YMCA of Long Island network that offers a 3-month payment plan and access to the YMCA 360 x Les Mills on-demand digital workout platform. The Family Services branch provides comprehensive treatment and prevention services that promote emotional wellness, including women-only group counseling sessions with childcare services for members with children. The staff across these services includes licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors, a psychiatrist, a physician’s assistant, and other trained advocates. Camp families are invited to attend a Camp Open House, which includes tours of camp facilities and opportunities to meet other camp families.
