Child Watch staff in the program are CPR and First Aid Certified, and YMCA Family Services staff includes licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors, a psychiatrist, and a physician’s assistant.

YMCA Family Services, as a branch of the YMCA of Long Island, provides a comprehensive menu of treatment and prevention services that promote the emotional wellness of individuals, families, and the community at large. YMCA Family Services is described as the social services and mental health arm of the YMCA of Long Island and offers prevention and treatment counseling services, including individualized services to anyone impacted by substance use. The organization states that in all its work it meets everyone with dignity and respect and guides individuals along a path to achieving balance and wellness in their lives.

The program’s unique features include a Child Watch program with CPR and First Aid Certified staff, a Holiday Camp when school is out, and a Before and After School Program for children in grades Kindergarten through Middle School that provides academic support and hands-on enrichment experiences in a safe and structured environment.
