Youth Art Workshops at The Heckscher Museum of Art

Youth Art Workshops at The Heckscher Museum of Art take place at The Heckscher Museum of Art. The program is connected to the Museum’s setting in Heckscher Park, which includes a Heckscher Park Soundwalk that uses a mobile device to share audio about the history of the community park and the sounds of nature around the Museum. The Heckscher Park Soundwalk experience includes wayfinding information, transcripts of all audio, and tactile maps with braille.

The Heckscher Museum of Art has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) since 1972. The Museum stewards the historic Dove/Torr Cottage in Centerport, New York, and has community connections with nearby arts and cultural organizations, including Art League of Long Island, b.j. spoke gallery, Cinema Arts Centre, fotofoto gallery, Huntington Art Center, Huntington Arts Council, Huntington Center for the Performing Arts, Huntington Fine Arts, Huntington Historical Society, The Paramount, Vanderbilt Museum & Planetarium, Walt Whitman Birthplace Association, and The Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor.
