New York State 4-H Camps

New York State 4-H Camps includes day camps, overnight camps, shortened overnight programs for younger campers, and specialty camps. The camps described include swimming, environmental education, outdoor living, crafts, sports, fishing, counselor-in-training, archery, sailing, canoeing, boating, aquatics, and trips that include canoeing, biking, and backpacking.

Programs

• NYS 4-H Camps — Open to all young people · Day camps, overnight camps, shortened overnight programs for younger campers, and specialty camps are described. Open to all young people, whether or not they are enrolled as 4-H members.
• 4-H Camp Bristol Hills — Overnight Camp | Day Camp (ACA Accredited). Activities include swimming, environmental education, outdoor living, crafts, sports, fishing, and counselor-in-training program.
• Dorothy P. Flint Nassau County 4-H Camp
• Hidden Valley 4-H Camp — 5-16 year old youth · Overnight Camp | Day Camp (ACA Accredited). A co-ed day and overnight camp.
• 4-H Camp Overlook — 6 to 19 years old · Overnight Camp (ACA Accredited). Programs include counselor-in-training, outdoor education, archery, sailing, canoeing, boating, swimming and aquatics.
• 4-H Camp Owahta — Overnight Camp | Day Camp. Operates six, week long sessions. Several 2 and 3-day trips are offered that include canoeing, biking and backpacking. Day Camp is also available.
• Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp — Overnight Camp | Day Camp (ACA Accredited).

About the provider

New York State 4-H camps provide a positive learning environment where individuals experience belonging, build community and deepen their appreciation for the natural world. They are members of the American Camp Association (ACA), and several camps are ACA Accredited. The camps serve campers from every county in the state and are open to all young people, whether or not they are enrolled as 4-H members.

There are day and overnight 4-H Camps throughout New York State. Camps offer traditional Resident Camp programs, Day Camps and shortened overnight programs for younger campers. Several camps are offering Specialty Camps. Enrollment in 4-H Programs is done through each county's Cooperative Extension Office.
