Camp Venture is an integrated, seven-week, non-competitive outdoor program for Rockland County children with and without special needs. Children bring lunch from home during the program day.

Venture Together’s founding program, Camp Venture, opened in 1969 as the first of its kind in New York State and was described as “a place in the sun for everyone.” Venture Together is a nonprofit provider of support and services for people of all abilities, ages, and special needs, and its mission is: “Founded by families for families, we nurture lifelong growth, opportunity, and joy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.” Venture Together has provided the Rockland County, NY, community with thoughtful, professional, and personalized care for people across the intellectual/developmental disability spectrum, and the program is for Rockland County children with and without special needs. The dedicated staff includes professional educators and a full-time nurse, and counselors are young adults from the community who work as counselors after receiving intensive training. Celia Solomita has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. The organization also operates a year-round Therapeutic Equestrian Center that provides benefits for people with special needs, improving strength and coordination while infusing a sense of empowerment and mastery.
