Coupé Theatre Studio offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Modern, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Acting, and vocal performance. The program includes Coupé Kids classes for ages 3–6, a Summer Intensive for ages 7–18, and year-end performance opportunities such as the Dance Festival and Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble’s yearly production of The Nutcracker. Students can also take voice and acting classes that conclude with a recital at the studio.

Coupé Theatre Studio was opened in 1970 in Nanuet, New York, by Artistic Director Diane Coupé Frankel. The leadership team includes Diane Coupé Frankel as Artistic Director and Alison Lister as Associate Artistic Director. The faculty includes over 30 teachers who are described as degreed educators and working artists, with teachers who have degrees and professional performance backgrounds.
The studio states that it believes students deserve high-quality instruction and individualized attention, and that every student is special. Coupé Theatre Studio states that it strives to carry out this philosophy in each class and to provide quality, integrity, and fairness. Classes are described as carefully monitored for size, compatibility of students, and quality of teaching, with structured curriculum, level placements, progress checks, and sequenced training across classical and contemporary styles. The program notes that all students in dance and musical theatre classes have the chance to perform in the fully staged annual Dance Festival, and that students in vocal performance, voice, and acting classes give a year-end recital at the studio. Coupé students are also able to audition for and perform in Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble’s yearly production of The Nutcracker.
Diane Coupé Frankel received the Stanislav Idzikowski Award for choreography from the Royal Academy of Dancing in London in 1956. She received the Rockland County Executive’s Arts Award for her contribution to the arts in Rockland County in 1990 and the County Executive’s Arts Award in Arts Education in 2000. Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble (originally Coupé Dance Company), which Diane created in 1983 as a nonprofit organization focused on performance and arts education opportunities, received the Rockland County Executive’s Arts Award for Arts Organization in 2003.
