Tumble-Bee Gymnastics started in August 1986 in Pearl River, New York, later moved to New City, and then settled in Nanuet, New York. Since 1995, it has been the only gym in the area to teach the nationally recognized Fun & Fit Gymnastics curriculum, and it combines this curriculum with an online Smart Moves Program. The program specializes in young children, including a preschool program for ages 10 months through 5 years, with weekly lesson plans, theme weeks, and set-ups, and it offers a Fun & Fit non-competitive gymnastics program for children ages 5 through 12 years.

The stated goal of Tumble-Bee Gymnastics is to have every child succeed by building self-confidence and self-esteem through physical and mental challenges in a fun, safe environment. The program states that it understands that all children are special and that they deserve to have self-confidence from an early age, and it teaches skills that it states give children the confidence and self-esteem they need to achieve success in the future. The staff is described as warm, caring, and trained to work with children.

Program guidelines include allowing only one parent in the gym for parent classes, with no siblings permitted in the gym and siblings required to remain in the waiting room. No child is permitted to exit the building without a parent, and parents must remove shoes before entering the gym area to use the restrooms. Cell phones are not allowed during parent classes, and families are asked not to bring sick children or siblings; children must be free of fever for 24 hours without medication before attending. Proper attire is specified as comfortable gym clothes: girls wear a leotard, shorts, or sweatpants with hair pulled back, and boys wear shorts and a T-shirt; large oversized T-shirts, dresses, jeans, long baggy pants, tights, and jewelry are not allowed, children are barefoot, and parents do not wear shoes in the gym.

One parent review states that all the staff at a birthday party were wonderful and very attentive to the kids. Another review describes staff at a birthday party as great and mentions that blowing up the bounce house with the kids laying on it was a highlight. A third review from a former Tumble-Bee participant notes returning with a child for classes and a 5th birthday party, describing the party as completely hassle free, with staff taking care of everything and children talking about it a week later.
