Discovery Programs

Discovery Programs offers activities including gymnastics, art, dramatic play, storytime, a K-Pop Demon Hunters hip hop class, and a dance concert. The program also includes After School Classes in gymnastics, ballet, hip hop, and martial arts, as well as Morning Baby and Toddler Baby Gym classes. Discovery Campers who are 2 or 3 years old attend from 9:15am to 12:15pm.

Discovery Programs has been a neighborhood institution for 53 years. The Director of early childhood programs is Katie Kheel (she/her). The mission states that toddlers are supported as they develop greater independence, curiosity and love for learning and friendships. The twos program and preschool prep program (OMO and AOMO) continue to provide students a nurturing first school experience. The program is introducing the new Gems level in its USAIGC program, offering a K-Pop Demon Hunters hip hop class, and having the two year olds perform in the dance concert. Summer Camp availability is listed in July and August, with Summer Camp and Fall registration now open, and Fall classes beginning on September 14th. A parent testimonial describes Discovery as “like a breath of fresh air in the city” and says it “attract[s] nice, down to earth people.”
