Martial Arts Family Studio offers martial arts, kickboxing, self-defense, Kali-inspired self-defense, toning, and boxing classes, along with kids classes and adult classes. The program also offers pre-ballet classes, baby music classes, music classes, camp programming, private lessons, birthday parties, special events, corporate team building, and Parents Night Out events.

The leadership team includes Founder Sandra Herrera Sanchez; Master Yu as Head Taekwondo Instructor; Instructor Jose and Instructor Skye as Taekwondo Instructors; Miss Hannah as MAFS Manager and Studio Manager; and Miss Alex as Music and Pre-Ballet Teacher. Martial Arts Family Center is noted as © 2018. Master Yu is Head Taekwondo Instructor, has a background as a close combat specialist in the Republic of Korea Special Forces, has served as the Business Manager and Head Master at four Taekwondo schools, and has over 10 years of teaching experience. Instructor Skye is a certified instructor and 4th degree black belt in taekwondo, holds second place in the world for her Xtreme Martial Arts weapons routine along with numerous State and District titles, and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Miss Hannah has more than a decade of experience, has led music classes, designed camp programming, and worked at family parties and events. Miss Alex has a BFA in Musical Theatre and years of experience as a nanny, dance teacher, and theatre performer.
The program’s mission statement says that martial arts helps develop every practitioner’s self-defense, self-esteem, discipline, and instills respect for others, and that the result of true taekwondo is natural, effortless action, and the confidence, humility, openness and peace only possible through perfect unity of mind and body. The mission statement also says martial arts is not only about physically training the body, but also about training the mind and spirit, and that there is a joy in training together and supporting each other that bolsters the ability of each individual student. Martial Arts Family Studio seeks to offer a wellness solution with an emphasis on martial arts training and fitness to improve not only the body, but the mind and the spirit as well.
Sandra Herrera Sanchez used her experience designing and leading community projects with children and teens with nonprofits in both Spain and the USA. Sandra was recognized in Marquis Who’s Who for her leadership at Martial Arts Family Studio. The studio highlights kids classes with instructors experienced in teaching children how to practice and have fun while learning, birthday parties and special events planning including children’s birthday parties, 40th birthday celebrations, corporate team building, and Parents Night Out, and self-defense classes that are Kali-inspired and for all skill levels. The program also offers morning kickboxing, toning, and boxing classes, women’s self-defense and dating violence awareness curriculum developed by Skye, and a centralized solution to offer martial arts and fitness to busy NYC families, with an emphasis on improving body, mind, and spirit and addressing the needs of the family as a whole.
