One of the leaders holds a 7th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 6th Dan Black Belt in Pro Taekwondo, a 4th Dan Black Belt in Hapkido, with 35 years of martial arts experience and 25 years of teaching.

Since opening, the school has certified more than 80 black belts and produced over 30 national medalists, 10 national champions, and numerous state champions. Supreme Martial Arts NYC has twice won 3rd place in the USAT National Championship Demo Team, has been named best school in the NY and NJ area over 8 times, and won first place in the NY/NJ/CT/PA state demo competition. Families and adult students describe the curriculum as well developed for children, challenging and fun, and note that lessons are engaging to watch and that parents sometimes join after seeing their children participate.

Parents and students in reviews describe teachers and masters as energetic, patient, and attentive, and mention that classes are active for kids and a strong workout for adults. Several reviews mention that children have stayed with the program for years, starting as young as age 3 or 4, and that both Taekwondo and kickboxing classes are lively and involve significant exercise. Reviewers also mention that the school provides life lessons during belt tests, that many children and adults look forward to classes, and that the school is described as feeling like a family and as involved with the community.
