About
TADA! Youth Theater Classes, Camps, and Workshops offers musical theater sample classes where students can learn the songs and dance moves to a Broadway favorite, including Frozen: The Musical song and dance. In week-long programs, students build and perform a brand-new original mini-musical every week and write, rehearse, and perform their own mini-musical in just five days. The program also includes chances to learn Sleepover choreography, learn a song or two from the show Sleepover, music and movement classes for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers, audition prep for teens and tweens, and Broadway dance classes for adults.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Week-long summer camps run in five-day sessions, with options between June 16 and August 29, and additional Broadway 1-Day Camps and workshops on select dates
• Price: If families register during the Early Bird Sale, they can take $50 off with code EB50.
TADA! Youth Theater offers onsite classes, camps, and workshops, and also provides in-school and after-school partnerships, musical theater in-school residencies, and arts education after-school programs to students pre-K through high school in schools and community centers in all five boroughs and beyond. Summer Camp Open House classes are led by two professional NYC Teaching Artists. The leadership team includes the Director of Education, Katy Knowles, and Nina, author of Notes from Nina. TADA! Youth Theater is a Drama Desk Award-winning nonprofit youth theater that produces original musicals for children, teens, and family audiences and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It provides a free, year-round, pre-professional training and positive youth development program for members of the Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET), including a mentorship program for BIPOC RYET members through the Arts Mentorship Program (AMP), and offers financial assistance through the Arts for All program. Esteemed TADA! Ensemble alumni include Academy Award winner Jordan Peele, Kerry Washington, Josh Peck, and Mizuo Peck. As an antiracist and multicultural organization, TADA! values and amplifies the voices, imaginations, knowledge, cultures, and leadership of BIPOC people, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+, and is committed to diversifying staff with leaders who authentically express themselves and their identity. For the Summer Camp Open House, limited spots are available, with 25 students plus two grown-ups permitted for each age group.
TADA! Youth Theater’s mission since 1984 has been to provide young people from different social, racial, economic, and cultural backgrounds with musical theater programs that inspire them to learn, be creative, and think differently through high-quality productions, positive youth development, and education programs. One school partner shared that partnering with TADA! Youth Theater for two years and participating in a skill-building residency had a huge impact on students’ level of confidence and gave students a voice and a chance to step outside their comfort zone and lead. An Ensemble Member, Marlena Vega, stated that she joined TADA! because she loved the productions and keeps coming back because of the friends she has made in the casts.
