About

Teen and Children’s Art Classes at The Art Students League of New York take place within an institution that has been active since 1875. The program is part of a school that is described as “The birthplace of American Art.” The League’s exhibitions are described as a cornerstone of its commitment to the education of artists and the public at large.

• Ages: 8–18 years old

The League presents an annual series of Student Salons that showcase work from every discipline taught there, along with Online Student Salons that are monthly virtual exhibitions highlighting the work of online students. It also organizes a year-long outdoor public art exhibition featuring new site-specific sculptures by League artists. An instructor, Augustine Boyce Cummings, describes being humbled to teach at an institution with a rich history and esteemed lineage of artists, and describes the Art Students League as a unique place that honors the past while empowering innovation.
