• Price: offering free, flexible tutoring and career mentoring
The City Tutors describes itself as NYC’s educational subway, offering free, flexible tutoring and career mentoring built for historically underserved communities and open to all. It is available year-round across all five boroughs, virtually or in-person through schools, nonprofits, and community partners across New York City. The program serves students across the five boroughs and expands support by partnering with and staffing programs that work with underserved communities that have limited or no capacity to provide academic and professional support. It enhances support by helping these partner sites deliver academic and professional support to the communities they serve and meets people where they are through schools, nonprofits, and community partners across the city. It empowers more New Yorkers to serve as tutors and mentors by offering training, by developing a range of site partnerships in different subjects and time commitments, and by focusing on volunteers’ professional growth and connections with others. The City Tutors, Inc. is a registered not-for-profit, and the Executive Director and Founder is Garri Rivkin.
