Waverly Martial Arts is a family-owned and operated martial arts school with a focus on building strong minds and bodies through Karate, Fitness Kickboxing, and life-skills education. The program uses progressive teaching methods and a character development curriculum that is described as fun and effective, with age-appropriate, high-energy drills and fast-paced, self-defense workouts. Classes are led by a team of teachers, many of whom were or still are students, and students receive positive recognition and rewards for effort, skill, manners, sportsmanship, and respectful treatment of others. The mission of Waverly Martial Arts is to train both body and mind, with constant improvement of what they do to better the experience they offer, and the program states that it helps students grow physically, mentally, and spiritually by connecting mind, body, and nature in harmony.

Owner Sensei Bill Roeder is an 8th-degree black belt, and the family’s martial arts journey spans over 25 years. Bill Roeder began Taekwondo training in 1972, returned to training in 1990 after an 18-year break, and in 2016 Bill, Bobby, and Jackie were promoted to 7th, 6th, and 4th-degree black belts, respectively. Waverly Martial Arts serves people who live in Patchogue, Holbrook, Holtsville, Farmingville, and Ronkonkoma.
