About
Huguenot Nursery School offers activities in communication, science, math, social studies, music, art, large-muscle development, and small-muscle development. Children can take part in elective sports enrichment programs, an immersion Spanish half-day option, weekly music class with a trained music specialist, and monthly visits from a professional storyteller.

Founded in 1992, Huguenot Nursery School is a private, non-profit preschool that is non-sectarian and welcomes families of all backgrounds and cultures. The school provides half-day and full-day programs for children ages nearly two through five and also offers before- and after-school care. Children in the 2’s classes have a maximum of 9 students with one qualified lead teacher and an assistant teacher, and children in the 3’s and 4’s classes have a maximum of 14 children with one lead teacher and an assistant teacher. Children attend a music class with a trained music specialist once a week and meet with a professional storyteller once a month. The school is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Huguenot Nursery School has a very active Parents Committee whose goals are to promote family involvement and support enrichment programs and teacher-appreciation events. The school’s core philosophy focuses on the development of the “whole child” through cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development in a nurturing and comfortable environment.
