Huguenot Nursery School offers activities in communication, science, math, social studies, music, art, large-muscle development, and small-muscle development. The program includes elective sports enrichment programs and an immersion Spanish option. Children attend a weekly music class with a trained music specialist and meet with a professional storyteller once a month.

Founded in 1992, Huguenot Nursery School is a private, non-profit preschool that is non-sectarian. The school offers half-day and full-day programs for children ages nearly two through five, with early morning and late afternoon options, as well as before- and after-school care. The school offers an immersion Spanish half-day option and additional immersion Spanish programming.

Children in the 2’s classes have a maximum of 9 students with one qualified lead teacher and an assistant teacher. Children in the 3’s and 4’s classes have a maximum of 14 children with one lead teacher and an assistant teacher. The school’s core philosophy focuses on the development of the “whole child” through cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development in a nurturing and comfortable environment.

Huguenot Nursery School is licensed by the New York State office of Children and Family Services. The school was founded by Huguenot Memorial Church and serves Pelham and its surrounding communities. It is non-sectarian and welcomes families of all backgrounds and cultures, and it has a very active Parents Committee that promotes family involvement and supports enrichment programs and teacher-appreciation events.
