SOOP Theatre Arts Repertory (STAR) Workshops offers a Fall Workshop for grades 3–5 that focuses on highlights from Elf the Musical. The program also offers a Fall Alphabet SOOPers workshop for grades K–2 that focuses on highlights from Finding Nemo.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Fall workshops run from mid-September to early December
Artistic Director Paul Romanello leads the program. In 1998, Paul Romanello and fellow actors founded Seat of Our Pants Theatre Company, which later developed the SOOP Theatre Arts Program (STAR) as its educational arm. The professional arm became the SOOP Acting Company after the educational arm began and the Manor Club Theatre was included as a second home. Since 2014, the Acting Company has offered main stage productions that include industry guest artists, Theatre For Young Audience holiday shows, and One Night Only concert-style theatre events. The company states that it is committed to the individual, his or her craft, and the business, which it identifies as essential parts of creating a career in this profession. SOOP’s production of A View From the Bridge has received strong reviews from Broadway Radio’s “This Week on Broadway” and from Sirius XM’s “On Broadway” host Christine Pedi.
