Plattsburgh YMCA Aquatics Programs offers Swim Lessons for children and adults, including Private Swim Lessons. It also offers Safety Around Water for ages 4-14 years, with 30-minute sessions between 3:00-5:00 pm, and Little Movers for ages 18-24 months on Mondays from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

- Swim Lessons — Instructional swimming for children or adults. 2026 fees are $63 for Members and $142 for Community Members. Private Swim Lessons are also offered.
- Safety Around Water — 4-14 years of age · 30 minute session between 3:00-5:00 pm
- Little Movers — 18-24 months · Mondays, 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM · Free & guided play, music & movement for parents and children at the Plattsburgh YMCA at the Oval. Starts June 1 through July 6. $60 registration fee for members; $90 registration fee for non-members.

About the provider
The first location of the Plattsburgh YMCA was the top floor of the D&H terminal starting in 1887. The next location was above Tierney's Variety Store, which burned down in 1902. In 1908, Loyal Smith left the YMCA $35,000 for a new building and $100,000 to keep it running, and the Plattsburgh YMCA is currently located on Oak Street.
- Private Swim Lessons — $35–$45 per class · Member: $35 for 30 Minute lesson or $240 pack of (8) 30 minute lessons. Non-Member: $45 for 30 Minute lesson or $360 pack of (8) 30 minute lessons.
Registration is online. Payment is due at the time of registration. There are no refunds after registration. Class times vary each session. Sessions are typically 8 weeks in duration, and holidays can affect the schedule. Program availability and eligibility for free swim lessons vary and are determined locally based on community needs and available capacity.
