Nancy Langlois School of Dance was established in 1955 and is described as being built with love for dance and family core values, with those values remaining the same after 70 years. The school operates in a 4,200 sq. ft. facility and offers over 60 classes a week for students ages 18 months through adult, including over 50 classes for recreational students of all skill levels. Its acrobatic program is described as “Real training. Real results.” and serves as the acro training ground for the Crown Jewels. The competition line includes over 90 dancers on 11 teams for students ages 5 and up, with teams for dancers who take several classes a week and compete in regional and national competitions. In just three years, the competition team has earned 15 division title overalls, and dancers have performed on Broadway and in Times Square in July 2022. Nancy Langlois School of Dance has been featured on NBC5 News and in Strictly Business Magazine, which notes it as the largest and fastest-growing dance program in the North Country and an icon in Plattsburgh culture. The program hosts “over the top” birthday parties and renowned dance parties exclusively for its dancers, and students present end-of-year recitals each spring. The school reports that 50 dancers have been with the program for over a decade, and that many children and grandchildren of former dancers now attend, describing the program as a legacy of excellence and dedication in dance education. Nancy Langlois Gerace, a mother and grandmother, is the founder, and the school states that it is committed to the integrity of learning, loving, and teaching the art of dance, with dancers achieving their goals through discipline and hard work.
