About
Camp Cardinal offers a range of activities that include art, engineering, health and wellness, history, science, storytelling, theatre, writing, and reading. Specific options include Reading, Art & Snacks, Summer STEM Fun, Artsy Animals, Kids in the Kitchen, Spy Camp, Cursive Writing Creativity, Magic School Bus, Fables in Action: Kids’ Theater Workshop, Nano Adventures: Exploring the Tiny World, Bake and Create at the “Flour Power Camp,” and Healthy Habits Adventure: Eat, Move & Thrive!. The program also includes Early Burghy Campers Activities, Burghy’s Nourish & Nest Lunch break, and Burghy’s Feathers & Fun Campers Activities.

• Schedule: Camps run July 7–11, 2025, with morning sessions from 9–11:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions from 12:30–3 p.m.; some camps and camper activities extend the day from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
For more than 35 years, Camp Cardinal, formerly known as Summer Safari, has offered learning in art, engineering, health and wellness, history, science, storytelling, theatre, and writing. The program brings local teachers and SUNY Plattsburgh professors together to teach a variety of courses. Discounts are available for children and grandchildren of active U.S. military service members and veterans. New for 2025 are the Early Burghy Campers Activities before the morning session, Burghy’s Nourish & Nest Lunch break between morning and afternoon sessions, and Burghy’s Feathers & Fun Campers Activities after the afternoon session. For Burghy’s Nourish & Nest Lunch break, families are asked to send a bagged lunch. The program lists Amanda Varin as Director of Events & Marketing.
