Camp Cardinal

Camp Cardinal offers a variety of activities, including art, engineering, health and wellness, history, science, storytelling, theatre, and writing. Children can join themed options such as Magic School Bus, Introduction To Hip Hop, Science Explorers: Adventures in Discovery!, Kitchen Thyme with Kids, Cardinal Quest, Intro to 3D Design, Burghy’s Beats, Reading, Art & Snacks, Burghy’s Summer Soccer, Junior Cardinal Police Academy, Every BODY Can Dance!, and 3D-Design: Introductory Sculpture. The program also includes Early Burghy Campers Activities, Burghy’s Nourish & Nest Lunch break and physical activity, and Burghy’s Feathers & Fun Campers Activities.

• Schedule: Camp Cardinal Summer Program runs July 20–24, 2026, with morning camps from 9–11 a.m. and afternoon camps from 1–3 p.m., plus options for early care, a lunch break with physical activity, and aftercare

For more than 35 years, Camp Cardinal, formerly known as Summer Safari, has offered learning in the listed areas. The program brings local teachers and SUNY Plattsburgh professors together to teach a variety of courses. Discounts are available for children and grandchildren of active U.S. military service members and veterans. Amanda Varin serves as Director of Events & Marketing. Lunch is included for participants in Burghy’s Nourish & Nest.
