About
Plattsburgh YMCA Summer Camps are part of a program that offers water safety and skills learning programs, along with access to state-of-the-art equipment. The program includes over 30 group fitness classes per week. It also offers high quality summer camp experiences in six locations and is described as the North Country’s leader in childcare from 6 weeks through 6th grade.
• Schedule: General facility hours are Monday–Friday 5:30am–9:00pm, and Saturday–Sunday 7:00am–5:00pm
The Plattsburgh YMCA traces its history back to 1887, when its first location was on the top floor of the D&H terminal. After a later location above Tierney's Variety Store burned down in 1902, Loyal Smith left the YMCA $35,000 in 1908 for a new building and $100,000 to keep it running, which led to the current Oak Street facility.
