The Center for Science Teaching & Learning Programs were founded over 25 years ago and are led by Dr. Ray Ann. The programs are operated by staff that includes scientists, certified teachers, former school administrators, and skilled artists and craftsmen. The mission of the Center for Science Teaching & Learning Programs is to encourage science learning and literacy in everyone, children as well as adults. The Center for Science Teaching and Learning is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.

The Center for Science Teaching & Learning Programs offers year-round programs aimed to introduce kids to science and nature, as well as field trip and outreach program experiences for groups of different sizes, ages, abilities, and needs. The organization creates signature corporate programs, delivers educational workshops locally and around the world, and offers consulting opportunities for teachers, businesses, and science centers looking to strengthen their STEM connections. The facility is also available for rental for events or nature-inspired weddings.

CSTL helps to run a number of national and international programs aimed to get adults and young adults involved and engaged in STEM. According to parents and visitors, children have taken School’s Out classes where they fed a goat, petted and learned about a python, did a Dino dig, and took part in other STEM-related activities. Families describe the museum and zoo with dinosaurs and live animals, note that the live animals are kept in very clean environments, and mention that their kids have a great time at the summer programs and other programs. Visitors also describe the staff as helpful and kind, and some note that they plan to visit again.
