Saratoga Arts’ mission is to enrich the region by cultivating a vibrant arts community and by ensuring that the arts are accessible to all. The organization’s leadership team includes Amy Bloom as Executive Director, Theresa Dickenson as Assistant Director, and Spencer Sherry as Grants and Community Outreach Coordinator. Amy Bloom has experience in strategy, operations, marketing, fundraising, management consulting, and teaching at Clarkson Graduate College, and she holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College and a Masters in Public Health from West Virginia University. Theresa Dickenson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hilbert College, is a published poet, and has nonprofit experience with the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity at Stella Niagara. Spencer Sherry has attended St. Rose for Music Industry, SUNY Oneonta for Criminal Justice, and UAlbany for Communications.

Saratoga Arts’ first Executive Director, Delores “Dee” Sarno, championed the founding of Saratoga County Arts Council in 1986. Saratoga Arts established a permanent home in the former Saratoga Springs Public Library in 1996 and raised $550,000 toward a capital campaign over the next four years. Saratoga Arts is looking forward to returning to its building in late 2025. The organization has received a capital project grant award totaling $766,000 from the New York State Council for the Arts and $1.1M in funds from the City of Saratoga Springs for renovations, including improvements to the gallery, Dee Sarno Theater, classrooms, and educational spaces on the lower level, as well as new indoor/outdoor access to Congress Park and a patio for outdoor use.

Saratoga Arts works with other regional organizations, arts presenters, business groups, and governmental agencies toward a shared vision that recognizes the role of the arts in personal enrichment and community development. While its main location is undergoing renovation, Saratoga Arts is partnering with several local organizations to continue offering educational programming, holding regular meetings, and hosting other events throughout 2025, and it has expressed gratitude for community-wide support from city and regional organizations.
