Sagamore Gymnastics was founded in 2013 by Coach Lacey as Sagamore Academy of Gymnastics and has operated as a family friendly, high quality program since 2013. Many coaches at Sagamore are former students who transitioned from student to coach. The program maintains a maximum student teacher ratio of 8 to 1.

The Sagamore Gymnastics facility is a 10,000 square foot, air conditioned space that is meticulously cleaned and sterilized and fully equipped with gymnastics equipment. The staff includes USAG safety and risk management certified staff, licensed EMTs, athletic trainers, and CPR certified coaches. Coach Kat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from New York University, has been a member of Sagamore’s staff since 2014, and is part of a staff that includes coaches such as Coach Sprinkle, who was a member of Sagamore's competitive Team from 2014 to 2020, and Coach Meg G, who has been on staff for almost four years. All ages, genders, and skill levels are welcome.

At Sagamore Academy of Gymnastics, the stated mission is to help all students reach their potential, both physically and mentally, through the sport of gymnastics, and to create an environment that cultivates listening skills, confidence, self-esteem, self-discipline, and responsibility. The program states that it builds strong character and produces top quality athletes by giving each student its best, and that it is uncompromisingly committed to providing a safe and fun environment for every athlete, regardless of skill level, so that all students feel great about their accomplishments.

Parent testimonials describe Sagamore Gymnastics as a place their children love attending, with comments noting that daughters and sons enjoy gymnastics and ninja programs, that the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and that coaches are caring, knowledgeable, and treat children like their own. Parents report experiences such as feeling “home” after trying other gyms, seeing their children become confident and happy, and valuing both beginner-friendly and competitive options, with several families stating they plan to stay with Sagamore for many years.
