About
LAUNCH Children & Youth Services includes group outings, structured social experiences, and other community based activities. Participants take part in hands on learning through activities such as performing, creating artwork, writing, designing programs, and welcoming guests. The program also includes events such as a golf tournament and golf ball drop, as well as “LAUNCHing Our Talents,” an inclusive showcase celebrating the creativity of individuals with developmental disabilities.
LAUNCH Children & Youth Services operates under the leadership of Executive Director Erin Gonnella. LAUNCH has been serving the greater Onondaga County area since 1985. Its mission is to empower children, youth and adults with diverse abilities to reach their full potential through personalized services, supporting meaningful, inclusive lives where individuals are active in their choices and self-advocacy. The Board of Directors is composed of local professionals across a variety of experience and backgrounds. The program also offers Connect & Thrive, which builds on summer programming to offer year round skill-based experiences, support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to work toward goals in their LifePlan, and employment support that assists individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain a job.
