Munson Community Art Classes take place within a larger arts setting that includes museum galleries, education programs, the performing arts, and collaborations. • Schedule: Open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, noon to 5 pm (closed Mondays)

Munson states that its mission is to create transformational arts experiences that cultivate curiosity and creativity which enlighten, educate, and inspire. The organization describes its role as connecting people with the arts to enrich lives, encourage creativity, and enhance cultural understanding through dynamic and thought-provoking programs that reach many segments of the community. Munson identifies itself as the cultural heart of Utica and notes that it reaches audiences beyond the immediate area while taking on a leadership role in the arts. Munson’s programs are supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the backing of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
