About
Beacon Art Studios is a puppet making studio where participants make costumes, make puppets, and take part in arts and crafts activities. The program includes workshops for children and adults that focus on sewing, knitting, crocheting, and creating new things from old things. Activities also include puppetry and using sewing skills to design and build custom puppets.
Founder and Creative Director Eva Intonti Gronowitz leads Beacon Art Studios as a Production Designer and Costume Designer. She is the designer and maker of the puppet Jeffy from Super Mario Logan and creates custom made puppets, look-alike puppets, and original puppets like Jeffy and other related characters. All puppets featured on the studio’s website are original works covered by copyright, and all work product used in constructing the puppets is considered proprietary to the design process and is the property of Eva Gronowitz. Use of Eva Gronowitz puppets for a commercial purpose requires prior written approval by her.
The mission of Beacon Art Studios is to offer a studio where costumes and puppets are made and where workshops for children and adults are held. The studio focuses on having children and adults gather to create new things from old things, learn how to sew, knit, crochet, and make puppets, and enjoy the act of creating. The program places emphasis on the creative process rather than the finished product, especially when working with children. The studio is currently closed to the public until the leadership is confident that it can reopen safely.
