BCBA’s mission states that it is devoted to providing quality sport and fitness programs to youth, Veterans, and residents in the community in which it operates, and to working in partnership with the community in a courteous and respectful manner and in harmony with the lives, property, and quality of life of others. The mission further states that BCBA aims to serve the community with a facility that is safe, clean, and provides a positive environment where young people, Veterans, and residents can train, feel a sense of belonging, and develop self-reliant skills, and that its fitness and wellness programs are specifically designed to help people meet challenges in their lives so they will not feel the need to turn to crime, drugs, gangs, or other self-destructive behaviors.

BCBA is led by Head Boxing Coach and Director Ray Bettinelli and has a certified staff of boxing coaches, martial arts instructors, and mentors. The gym offers youth empowerment programs intended to help at risk kids ages 9 through 17 and provides a structured environment where people feel a sense of belonging. As part of its community involvement, BCBA makes space available to fellow nonprofits, community leaders, and other outreach programs whose objectives are to educate, motivate, or inspire, and it states that it hopes to become a model for how the profit and nonprofit sectors can work together to positively impact the communities in which they do business.
