Akron ArtWorks

Akron ArtWorks offers kids classes, camps, and workshops, with instructors who are practicing studio artists or university faculty. It also offers themed art camps, weekday classes, and school break camps, and all materials are provided for students.

Programs

• Kids Classes — ages four through 15 · year round · Classes, camps and workshops; instructors are practicing studio artists or university faculty.
• Kids Camps — ages 7 to 14 · half day and full day; themed camps · Each day artists build on their experiences with different art mediums. Cost includes all materials and instruction.
• Kids Weekday classes — Age 4-6; Age 7-10; Age 10-15 · weekdays · Age 4-6, Age 7-10, and Age 10-15 sessions are listed.

About the provider

Akron ArtWorks is co-owned by Micah Beree and Dr. Karin Coifman. Micah is an artist and art educator with an M.A. in Art Education from Teacher's College, Columbia University and a B.F.A. from the University of Denver. Karin is a clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. The program says it aims to provide expert art instruction and therapeutic activities to children and adults in the Akron, OH area.

Akron ArtWorks reserves the right to cancel classes with low enrollment. If the studio cancels a class, participants may transfer to another class, receive credit, or a full refund. Fees for classes, workshops, and camps are non-refundable. Cancellations at least one week prior to the start receive a full credit; no refunds or credits within 48 hours prior to the start. Most classes are designed for students with any level of experience, including no experience.
