About

Akron Urban League Youth Programs offers new activities for youth that include fishing, chess, and Teen Night. These activities are part of a broader set of youth programs offered through the Akron Urban League.

The Akron Urban League’s mission is: “We provide economic, educational, and social assistance to Summit County residents.” The organization notes that it works through local, state, federal, and private partnerships to bring transformative programs to Summit County. Its Education Achievement Center focuses on academic enrichment, creative expression, leadership development, and essential life skills for young people. The Restorative Services Center focuses on emotional intelligence training, workforce development, and expungement and other barrier removals for justice-impacted individuals. The Workforce Success Center offers job placement, resume writing, and professional skill training, and the Entrepreneurship & Business Support area offers coaching, training, certification support, and connections for small businesses. The Akron Urban League highlights its centennial through “A True Celebration of 100 Years: Akron Urban League Centennial Gala” and notes participation in “Urban League Joins Akron in Celebrating 2025 All-America City Award.”
