Ashtabula County YMCA Youth Programs include swimming activities in a pool and at a waterfront. The programs also connect with families through the Robert S Morrison Virtual YMCA, which offers new videos and live streams added regularly.
• Price: Pool lifeguards are paid at minimum wage. Waterfront lifeguards are paid $12 per hour.
For more than 175 years, the Y has been listening and responding to communities. The YMCA operates with a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The leadership team includes Eric Stinehelfer as CEO and Dale Nissley as Interim CEO. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization.
The YMCA Conneaut Outreach Program brings the YMCA into the community and grew from the combined vision of the YMCA and Conneaut community members. The Y works side-by-side with neighbors so that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, and it is community centered and brings people together, connecting people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs. The Y mobilizes local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change, and donations to the YMCA Annual Campaign can be designated to programs such as Conneaut Outreach. Lifeguard candidates in these programs must be strong swimmers and must pass swimming and skills checks. No one is turned away from the YMCA due to an inability to pay.
