After School Discovery

After School Discovery includes Discovery Cove, Celebrate Primary, Strive 4 Success, Club 212, and Summer of Discovery. Discovery Cove is a before and after school childcare enrichment program, Celebrate Primary supports academics, social/emotional and life skill development, Strive 4 Success is an academic coaching program with enrichments, and Club 212 offers academic coaching and homework help. Summer of Discovery runs as a summer program.

Programs

• Discovery Cove — Pre-K through 6th grade · Mon-Fri, 6:00 am-9:30 am and 2:30 pm-6:00 pm · Before and after school childcare enrichment program held at Ontario Primary Cafeteria. Parent pay program.
• Celebrate Primary — 1st and 2nd grade · Mon-Fri, 7:00-8:00 am; Tue and Wed, 3:00-5:30 pm · Supports academics, social/emotional and life skill development. No charge. Transportation home offered at no charge.
• Strive 4 Success — 3rd through 6th grade · Tue and Wed after school, 4:00-6:35 pm · Academic coaching program beginning at Superior Intermediate for academics and ending at Ontario Primary for enrichments. No charge. Transportation home offered at no cost.
• Club 212 — 7th and 8th grade · After school · After school academic coaching and homework help program at Lakeside Jr High School. No charge.
• Summer of Discovery — Completed kindergarten through 6th grade · Tue, Wed and Thu, 8:00 am-3:00 pm · Summer program held from June 23 to July 23.

About the provider

After School Discovery has provided enrichment for students throughout Ashtabula County since 1995, and its about page also says it has nurtured children's interest in education and learning since 1994. Its mission is to promote enrichment opportunities for children that encourage problem solving, investigation, self-expression, and self-esteem, and to provide high quality, fun, enrichment activities that stimulate young minds beyond the normal curricula to encourage higher level thinking skills. Discovery Cove is licensed through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and has Step Up to Quality Status of GOLD. ASD also collaborates with local school districts, organizations, and businesses and supports a community learning support team, volunteer programs, and mentorship opportunities.

Discovery Cove is a parent pay program. Celebrate Primary and Strive 4 Success are no charge to families. Club 212 is offered at no charge. Transportation home is available at no charge for Celebrate Primary and Strive 4 Success. Club 212 has no transportation home.
